Questions.
Which file types are searched?
By default PHP, JS, CSS, text, Markdown, JSON, XML and HTML. You can filter by type in the form.
Why are some files missing?
It skips binary files, files over 2 MB (configurable), vendor folders such as node_modules and .git, and anything matching your exclusion patterns.
Can I search WordPress core?
Not yet. SniffPress searches theme and plugin files only.
How do exclusion patterns work?
Enter comma-separated patterns, such as node_modules, vendor or *.log, cache/.
How does the live counter work?
After two characters with a location selected, a quick background count shows under the field. It is capped at 500 for speed.
How do I enable dark mode?
Click the moon or sun icon at the top right of the SniffPress page. Your choice is saved in the browser.
